Brock University hosts 200 Sakura trees donated in 2003 by the Japanese government during the Chancellorship of Raymond Moriyama, who received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette from Emperor Akihito. It remains one of Ontario's largest single-campus cherry collections.
