Spencer Smith Park features cherry trees donated by the Nakazawa family of Itabashi, Japan, following Burlington's 1989 twinning with Itabashi. Royal Botanical Gardens nearby hosts Canada's largest botanical garden with diverse cherry cultivars including rare Prunus 'Asagi'.
